The Woman King is an epic historical action drama inspired by the history of the Agojie, the all-female warrior unit that protected the West African Kingdom of Dahomey.
The film follows General Nanisca, a highly skilled and determined warrior who trains and leads a new generation of fighters. As the kingdom faces external threats and internal challenges, Nanisca must prepare her warriors for a dangerous conflict while confronting difficult choices from her own past.
Combining spectacular battle sequences, historical drama, powerful character development, and emotional storytelling, The Woman King delivers an inspiring story of courage, leadership, loyalty, and resilience.
Directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and starring Viola Davis, Thuso Mbedu, Lashana Lynch, Sheila Atim, and John Boyega, the film brings the world of the Dahomey warriors to the screen with a strong focus on action and character-driven drama.
This 1-disc DVD Box Set is an excellent addition to any action, historical drama, or movie collection.
