Discover the rise of one of the most powerful and controversial women in European history with The Serpent Queen Season 1, collected in this 2-disc DVD box set.
The historical drama tells the story of Catherine de Medici, who arrives at the French royal court as a young Italian noblewoman and enters an arranged marriage with the future King Henry II.
Facing political enemies, an unhappy marriage, court rivalries and constant threats to her position, Catherine learns how to survive in a world where power depends on intelligence, alliances and manipulation.
As her influence grows, Catherine transforms from an outsider into one of the most formidable figures in French history, eventually becoming Queen of France.
Starring Samantha Morton as Catherine de Medici, The Serpent Queen combines historical drama, royal politics, betrayal, ambition and dark humour. STARZ describes the series as the story of Catherine de Medici, who became one of the most powerful and longest-serving rulers in French history.
This collection includes all 8 episodes of Season 1 in one convenient 2-disc DVD box set.
