Iron Man 2 continues the story of billionaire inventor Tony Stark, who has revealed his identity as the armored superhero Iron Man and is now facing increasing pressure from both his enemies and the government.
As Tony’s technology becomes the focus of international attention, he encounters Ivan Vanko, a dangerous new adversary with his own advanced electrical technology and a personal connection to the Stark family’s past. At the same time, Tony must deal with pressure to share his Iron Man technology while struggling with the effects of the powerful arc reactor that keeps him alive.
The film also introduces Natasha Romanoff, better known as Black Widow, and sees Tony working alongside James Rhodes, who becomes the armored hero War Machine.
Starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, and Mickey Rourke, Iron Man 2 combines superhero action, advanced technology, humour, and dramatic storytelling.
