About the Movie
In the remote South Korean fishing village of Hope Harbor, life has traditionally revolved around the ocean, local traditions, and the close relationships between residents.
However, the peaceful community is thrown into chaos when reports emerge of a mysterious creature appearing near the village.
Police chief Bum-seok and rookie officer Sung-ae are called upon to investigate the unusual incidents and protect the local population.
At first, the situation appears to involve an unidentified animal causing destruction in the surrounding countryside.
However, as more disturbing events occur, the authorities begin to realize that the creature may represent something far beyond their understanding.
Meanwhile, a group of hunters led by Sung-ki enters the nearby forest in an attempt to track down the mysterious beast.
Their expedition quickly becomes a desperate struggle for survival when they discover that something is hunting them.
As the situation escalates, the village becomes increasingly isolated and communications with the outside world are disrupted.
Fear spreads throughout the community as residents struggle to understand what is happening.
The investigation gradually reveals that the mysterious events are connected to misunderstandings, hidden motives, and forces far greater than anyone initially imagined.
As human conflicts intensify and the supernatural mystery deepens, the residents find themselves facing a catastrophe of extraordinary proportions.
The story explores how fear, ignorance, and conflicting perceptions can transform an already dangerous situation into an unimaginable disaster.
Combining monster horror, science fiction, dark humor, and large-scale action, HOPE creates a distinctive cinematic world where the boundaries between human conflict and cosmic horror become increasingly blurred.
