Experience the complete acclaimed British detective drama Inspector George Gently with Series 1-8 collected in this extensive 25-disc DVD box set.
Set in the North East of England during the 1960s and early 1970s, the series follows Detective Chief Inspector George Gently, an experienced and principled police officer determined to uphold justice in a rapidly changing society.
After leaving London, Gently begins investigating serious crimes alongside his ambitious young partner, Detective Sergeant John Bacchus.
Despite their different personalities and approaches to policing, the two detectives develop a strong working relationship as they investigate murders, corruption, organised crime, political conspiracies and disturbing secrets hidden within local communities.
Based on the novels by Alan Hunter, Inspector George Gently combines traditional British detective storytelling with historical drama, exploring the social and cultural changes of Britain during the 1960s.
Starring Martin Shaw as George Gently and Lee Ingleby as John Bacchus, alongside Lisa McGrillis, the series delivers compelling investigations, complex characters and atmospheric period storytelling.
This collection includes all 8 series and 25 feature-length episodes, bringing together the complete 2007–2017 television series in one comprehensive 25-disc DVD box set.
