Journey to the African savanna with Disney’s beloved animated classic The Lion King.
The story follows Simba, a young lion who is destined to become king of the Pride Lands. Simba looks up to his father, Mufasa, and dreams of one day following in his footsteps. However, his uncle Scar secretly plots to take control of the kingdom.
After a tragic event changes Simba’s life, the young lion is forced into exile and must learn to find his own path. Along the way, he meets the cheerful meerkat Timon and warthog Pumbaa, who teach him a new way of life and help him rediscover his confidence.
As Simba grows older, he must eventually confront his past and decide whether to return home and accept his responsibility as the rightful heir to Pride Rock.
Featuring memorable characters including Simba, Mufasa, Nala, Scar, Timon and Pumbaa, The Lion King combines adventure, comedy, drama, family storytelling and unforgettable music.
The film is known for its emotional story, beautiful animation and iconic songs, including “Circle of Life,” “Hakuna Matata” and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.” Disney identifies the film as a coming-of-age story as well as an animated family adventure.
